Mission

I’ve been working in various fields of IT for about 10 years. Huge experience in performing a variety tasks — from developing concise & effective software solutions up to leading enterprise-scale projects — gives me strong basis to successfully analyze the goals of business and find most effective ways to attain them.

I’m always looking for ideal balance between perfect architecture of the solution and its ability to meet business objectives, seeing business as the most important driving force of any project in contemporary environment.

    Head of software development & implementation division, RTCOMM, Moscow
    RTCOMM is the largest national-wide Russian IP network operator
    Managing the activities of the Informational Systems sector in IT department. Responsible for development & implementation of intranet and extranet WEB services, business applications implementation and system integration.
    • Performed analysis and formalization of the company business processes (IDEF0/IDEF3/DFD). Managed to develop & write a number of conceptual papers regarding business entities classification and data flows of the subject area.
    • Designed integrated corporate application system architecture and application systems interaction logic (using UML methodology). Integrated system includes order management system, CRM system, ERP system and billing applications.
    • Managed development and deployment of the Enterprise Information Portal for the company. Performed a thorough analysis of the business goals to achieve the maximum conformance with customer needs. Managed the development of intranet WEB services for automating common business tasks inside the organization.
    • Managed deployment of CRM System (SalesLogix 5.2). Analyzed appropriate business processes of the commercial departments, managed the process of application system customization considering the needs of the business (large regional representative network, variety of strategies for local telecommunication companies).
    • Managed implementation of interactive network map system that allows technical & sales staff to monitor global network load and state using the convenient graphical map-oriented interface.

  • Dec 2001 – Feb 2003
    Senior software developer at Zenon N.S.P., Moscow
    Zenon N.S.P. is the one of the market leaders for hosting and dial-up services in Moscow
    Responsible for development of automated hosting management systems and documentation of the internal software systems & frameworks.
    • Developed system for automated software installation on multiple hosting clusters with centralized web-interface management. The resulting system worked on FreeBSD and Solaris servers and allowed distributed installation of software packages with “one click” from the administrative interface.
    • Researched & documented all internally developed software that was used for customer service management, statistics collection, hardware provisioning and billing tasks (over 300 printed pages of documentation)

  • Oct 1998 – Dec 2001
    Senior software developer at Web-Masterskaya, Moscow
    W-M is one of the market leaders in web design & development in Russia, specializing on interactive and media web sites.
    Started from the ground up and later managed all the core software projects related to WWW building. Worked as a lead developer, team leader, system architect, DBA. Organized and managed customer support services.
    • Managed design & development of the content management system PR3. System was designed and optimized for large media-oriented websites, and incorporated corresponding functionality: content export capabilities, role-based authorization, and special end-user ergonomics. The system was widely used on a large number of media and corporate websites.
    • Managed design & development of the banner advertising system ZBS. Key features of the system include ability to handle multiple banner formats, flexible targeting algorithms, ability to handle very complex advertising campaigns and distributed architecture, allowing to use any number of mirror servers to improve performance.     • Created the optimized cache engine for Apache web server for heavily-loaded websites with dynamically rendered pages. The resulting server performance was comparable to the one with the static content and was able to handle about 200 concurrent requests per second.
    • Managed design & development of XML-based content management system for Bible-Center, website dedicated to the Bible study. Extensively used XML/XSLT concepts to provide instant hypertext handling. The resulting website worked with plain XML files, without RDBMS backend.

  • Sep 1997 – Oct 1998
    IS manager at Informational & Brokerage Company, Moscow
    Managed the entire IT infrastructure of the company, including Reuters Wyatts phone dealing system, local network and telephony (2xE1). Developed a database application for automating company back office tasks.

  • Jul 1995 – Sep 1997
    Systems engineer at Team Computers Ltd, Moscow
    Worked as a technical/system administrator, assembling and testing various PC hardware and administrating office local network (Netware 3.12).

Other projects

  • TRAVEL.RU
    Design & development of content management system for largest Russian web portal dedicated to tourism & travelling, completely written in Perl. Usage of background content generation approach allowed virtually unlimited scalability & performance.

  • LJ2ME
